Chitra Don Bosco, Chitradurga organized a one day workshop at district level under the CREAM project with the focus to eradicate child marriage. The workshop was organised in collaboration with Department of Women and Child Development, Chitradurga. In India, every year thousands of girl children are married before the age of 18. The numbers are increasing every year. In many families girl children are considered as a financial liability. The patriarchal system, class, caste and traditions limit the role of women in the family and society. In the rural areas the access and opportunities to get education for a girl is very much limited and it could lead to less education among girls and increased vulnerability. The programme was inaugurated by Mr.Neeraj DHO, Chitradurga, Mr.Parmeshwarappa Deputy Director for DWCD, Chitradurga, Mr.Arun Rangarajan, Superintendent of Police, Mr.Muddhanna, CDPO, Hiriyur, Mr.Ravishenkar Reddy BEO, Chitradurga, Mr.Hanumantharaiyappa,BEO, Hiriyur, Mr.P.Ramaiyaha,BEO, Hosadurga, Mr.Palekeshappa,THO, Chitradurga, Fr.
