Community development initiatives of BREADS are intended to empower the people and environment in which vulnerable children live, to support them from being marginalised further. BREADS uses the proven developmental strategy of small collectives effectively in its work with women and communities, promoting healthcare, awareness of rights, sustainable livelihoods and climate action.
Self Help Groups are one of the platforms that BREADS uses to help women organise themselves to improve their financial and personal situations through training, empowerment and sustainable livelihood programmes. BREADS also works with migrant labourers through collectives to support them to access their entitlements from the State.
The integration of advocacy, networking, linkages and convergence with government policies and projects, has assured the continuity of interventions with the high-level involvement of stakeholders such as the direct beneficiaries, civil society, policy makers and duty bearers.
