The spread of COVID 19 forced the country into a lockdown for 21 days and maybe even longer. In this situation, large numbers of people are severely impacted by lack of jobs, income and basic supplies. To support such people, the Don Bosco community at Padivayal identified 40 families among tribal communities, families with mentally challenged children or bed-ridden members, and extremely poor families. On 8 April 2020, food kits and provisions were distributed to 20 identified families. The distribution to the other families is scheduled for the next few days in keeping with the district and state protocols and strict mobility restrictions imposed for the prevention of the spread of COVID 19.
