This is about RAGHAV (name changed) of standard 8th from Bhagyashree high school, Mallurpatna, Chanapatana, Ramnagara, son of Maruthi and Bhagya hails from virupakshapure hobli.
Ramangara is always known for its forwardness in bringing developments in the lives of people of its zone. There was a discussion initiated by the members in Navya Child Rights Club (CRC) established with the help of Don Bosco Yuva Marg, Ramangara during a meeting regarding the problem faced by Master Raghav – a school dropout. The outcome was a plan was to visit the child to know the real situation and act appropriately. On 14th of January early morning a team including the President Kumari Thanushree and the members namely Masters Kumar, Shreyas Gowda, Sagar, Manjunath and many others under the guidance of Mr. Lokesh the Social activist, came over to Chennapatana Town. There they found their schoolmate Master Raghav was earning his livelihood by selling bananas in the market from the past five months due to the utter poverty at home. Though his parents are daily-wage labourers, it came to be that he is the only reliable bread winner for the family and this had forced him not to go the school for the past five months. His friends had seen this situation and seem to have told him that; “You also should come to the school and learn like us. It is against the laws to go and earn your living as a boy when you are supposed to study. You have your own rights just as we have and if you continue not to attend the school you will also be punished”. Did they include the parents of the child in sensitization activity regarding the pitfalls of child labour. The club members were very happy and their effort was paid when they saw master Raghav back in school even though he had agreed to come to school earlier. The Head Master of the school Mr. Nagesh later during the assembly congratulated the Navya Child Right Club members for their courageous act, concern and love they had shown for Raghav.
