The Karnataka Interstate Migrants Alliance for Transformation (KISMAT), a BREADS’ project, conducted an awareness programme on e-Shram and labour cards for the north Karnataka migrants in Banjara Layout, Bangalore on 24 July 2022. The programme reached more than 90 people in the locality who have been living there for the past three years. The KISMAT team assisted the migrants in registering the e-Shram and labour cards so that they can avail benefits from the same. The programme started with an introduction to the KISMAT project and its services for the migrant communities. With the help of the Jan Sahas Foundation (a non-profit organization working towards facilitating the safe migration of informal workers in the country), the KISMAT team registered 12 migrants for the e-Shram card and gave them application forms for registering their labour cards. The people were very happy with the programme as they gained awareness about these benefits.
