Don Bosco Child Labor Mission, Davangere celebrates
Human Rights Day
Fr. Kuriakose (in the middle) with the other participants of the program celebrated and inaugurated the Human Rights Day on 10th December 2014 at Don Bosco Child Labor Mission, Davangere organized by the self-help groups. He worried about how an individual’s rights are still being violated on issues like caste, life security, morality and property, even when we claim our society to be civilized.
He remarked that the UN has declared Human Rights Day to wipe away all the inequalities set by our society. It is a great concern that even after strict laws and policies, human rights are violated very often. Putting an end to it and breaking the shackles of the social evils can only set us free. Every person has the right to follow his or her freedom, but women, children and the underprivileged sections of the society are still being exploited, and are deprived of their rights.
Followed by Mr. Honnappa, the social activist of CREAM Project also shared some information about the various projects initiated by government that provide protection to the vulnerable sections, to help them seek justice at the earliest.
