With the motive to encourage and empower youth through improved skills in communicative English, Ananya Education and Empowerment Trust (AEET) with Teach India (a CSR initiative of the Times of India) have begun collaboration with DB BEST Academy, Lingarajapuram, Bengaluru, to provide spoken English classes to the skill training students at the centre. The British Council is the content and knowledge partner for the Teach India programme. The new venture will provide 80 hours of spoken English classes for the Retail, BPO and Hospitality Management trainees to boost their communication skills and confidence in speaking English to improve their scope for employability.
The programme was inaugurated on 25 January 2020 at DB BEST Academy where the Director, Fr. Rubin Panthackal SDB delivered the presidential address to the 45 students and guests. Dignitaries present were Mr. John Baptist D’Souza, Programme Officer-AEET, and Ms. Rajini Menon, CSR representative of Times of India, who also delivered the keynote address. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Sanjay, student of DB BEST Academy.
