The beautiful dawn of 20 November 2019 found every one of the DB Tech youth of CHITHRA Don Bosco, Chitradurga, on a high note as they were all getting ready for the day-long training on gender equality and awareness on the laws and regulations of the country which they needed to follow as good citizens. The inaugural function was presided over by Fr. John Peter, Principal, Don Bosco Pre-University College, Chitradurga. The other dignitaries present were Ms. Dilshad Unnisa, Penal Advocate, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA); Mr. Aranya, Damma Organization, Chitradurga; Fr, Sonychen Mathew, Director, CHITHRA Don Bosco, and Mr. Viswa Sagar, Director, Damma Organization, Chitradurga. The programme started with a prayer song by the DB Tech students and the training was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Ms. Dilshad Unnisa while explaining the various provisions of the Constitution, informed the participants about the facilities available at DLSA. Fr. John Peter enlightened the students on gender discrimination and gender equality by narrating his own life history and different incidents which he had experienced in the past. Fr. Sonychen Mathew while addressing the participants reminded all to help the other people in distressed situations to a better life. Mr. Vishwa Sagar handled the session on gender stereotypes on men and women and how they limit capacities, abilities and free choices in life.
