The project aims to establish a safety net in and around Bangalore city to ensure the well-being of at-risk children who need care and protection the most. The project’s strategy focuses on protecting children from all forms of exploitation and child rights violations.
A round-the-clock staff presence is made available through the project in the streets and strategic locations like Gandhinagar, Magadi Road, Shivaji Nagar, railways stations, bus stations, city markets, etc. to monitor the movements of children in the streets of Bangalore city.
By being vigilant on the streets, the project helped to identify and rescue vulnerable children, reunite them with their families and provide them counselling.
The project adopted the following strategies
- 24 hours presence on the streets to rescue children landing on the streets
- Rehabilitation through family reunification, foster care and institutional placements
- Community awareness for promotion of child rights
- Promote volunteer involvement
