Aiming to develop the skills of trainees, DB BEST Academy had organised a workshop on 22 November 2018 for the batch 7 students. A team of 20 volunteers from Deloitte India took sessions for students with the guidance of Mr. Ranjit Pisharody, Team Leader, Deloitte, India.
Fr. Cyril, Director, DB BEST Academy introduced the team. Ms. Lesilen Jose, Trainer, Retail Management presented about BREADS and its interventions to expose the team to the social commitment BREADS has paid. The team resumed the workshop after the formal meeting. The first session was about ‘Resume Preparation’. The team explained the students on the reflection of resume on the personality of the applicant. The session clearly narrated the less noticed and details of contents which makes a resume complete. The following session trained students to prepare for job interviews in the expected manner. The team acted out the real situation at an interview and the importance of presenting oneself formal and professional. The interviewer examines the conceptual knowledge of the applicant and the confidence level of the interviewee which reflect the capacity of the applicant to manage highly stressed situations. An individual/applicant while at interview is also analysed on the external presentation of oneself through grooming, formal wears, body language, communication, eye contact and the behaviour. The different interview styles and methods that companies use were informed and the individual ability to respond spontaneous in situations were examined.
The afternoon sessions were dealt through games and action oriented learning followed by a group activity which molded the students’ team building, mutual coordination, understanding and the leadership skills of the students. The last sessions continued to energize and motivate through lectures and presentations on life skills. While concluding the workshop, the Deloitte team distributed prizes to 65 participants of soft skill training program.
On behalf of the DB BEST staff, Fr. Cyril expressed words of gratitude to the Deloitte team and Mr. Bradley, from batch 7 represented the DB BEST skill training students. BREADS and DB BEST Academy is grateful to the volunteering Deloitte has initiated and for imparting productive information to our students.
