Don Bosco Child Labour Mission (DBCLM) in collaboration with Bangalore Rural Educational And Development Society (BREADS), initiated primary healthcare outreach services for the marginalised rural communities in Jagalur and Davanagere taluks of Davanagere district through a mobile clinic, health education, and advocacy actions in February 2024. The primary objective is to enhance the health conditions of rural families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly those in marginalised and difficult circumstances. After obtaining the needed permissions from the Taluk Health Officers, DBCLM selected 15 villages from Jagalur and 5 villages from Davanagere taluks, which most needed the intervention for health services. In March 2024, the mobile clinic staffed by a nurse and health workers, visited the 20 villages, reaching out to 893 individuals with necessary health services and awareness programmes on preventive health and hygiene practices.
