Sewing a path to empowerment

On 6 February 2024, the inauguration of the third batch of the Tailoring skill training programme, consisting of 40 women, took place at Don Bosco ITI Bhadravati. Fr. Nilagal Christhu Raj, Rector and Principal of DB ITI Bhadravati, Mr. Natraj, President of Akshara Panchayat, Bhadravati, along with the staff and students of Don Bosco ITI, graced the ceremony. The training will be completed in four months.

The proceedings commenced with a prayer, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

Mr. Natraj, the chief guest, encouraged the women to make optimal use of the training facility. He emphasised the Mudra Loan Scheme opportunity, urging them to apply for it to establish their own shops. Mr. Natraj shared valuable insights, highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment for societal betterment. In his talk, Fr. Nilagal Christhu Raj, emphasised the significance of skill development and the purpose of the specific training.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Shalini, the Tailoring instructor.
