MAKKALA MELA – 2015, CHILDREN’S DAY AT DON BOSCO HOSPET

Don Bosco Hospet which is broadly working for the children and youth at risk did keep the children’s day. Although the original day is on 14th Nov, for our convenience we kept it for the 15th Nov. the programme began in the afternoon at 1:30pm.

For the programme there were over a thousand children gathered.  At the outset we had a public cultural programme, where in the children were felicitated by the staff and the invited officials. Unfortunately Fr. Rector could not be present here since he had to present for the Provincial counsel. Also Fr. Siju could not be present due to his ill health .Since our main aim was to conduct chance games and distribute prizes for the children we limited the programme to very few items.

Immediately after the cultural programme the children were taken for chance games which were conductd by the social staff. There were a number of games arranged for the children since the number was over a thousand. There were around 35 different chance games like, killing rate, hitting stump, kicking the ball in the ring, and etc. there were also five different prize stalls to give away the prizes. Since there were five stalls we could easily distribute prizes without confusion.

At the end of the day the children all were given biscuits before they returned home. Definitely eh children were all happy as they were holding handful of prizes which are very useful for eh study propose.
