Rev. Fr. Paul Raj, the Vicar General of Bellary Diocese blessed and Rev Fr Thomas Anchukandam inaugurated the newly constructed vocational training centre at Don Bosco Hospet on 17th January 2015. Mr. Jörn Rohde, Consul General, German Consulate, Bangalore and his wife were the Chief Guests for the Function. Fr Joy Nedumparambil SDB, the Executive Director of BREADS Bangalore, the Dean, the Parish Priest of Hospet and the Ward Member were also present for the function. Many Salesians including those worked in Hospet participated in the function.
Fr. Lawrence, the Rector of Don Bosco Hospet welcomed the gathering. Fr Provincial spoke on the credentials of Don Bosco institutions in imparting skill training to the marginalized youth of the country while M. Rohde appreciated the efforts of Don Bosco in the field of vocational training and invited to change our attitude on skilled labourers and give them the dignity they truly deserve. Fr Joy thanked all the partners who made it possible to make this project a reality. Fr. Sebastian proposed the vote of thanks and felicitated all the guests, architect, contractor and other staff with gifts and mementos.
The public function was followed by theFestal Mass in honor of St. John Bosco on the occasion of the bicentenary. All the children, trainees, staff and well-wishers of Don Bosco Hospet attended the function which was concluded with the fellowship meal.
