Don Bosco Tech, Bangalore, officially inaugurated the NSQF(National Skill Qualification Framework) Scheme in partnership with the Government of Karnataka on 21st October 2014. The dignitaries present were Rev. Fr. Thomas Anchukandam, the Provincial of Salesians of Don Bosco of Bangalore province, Mr. Purushotham, the Special Officer appointed by the government of Karnataka for the implementation of the project, Rev. Fr. Thomas K.O, the Vice Provincial, Fr. Ramesh, Asst. Director of Don Bosco Tech, Delhi, Fr. Joy, Director of BREADS(Bangalore Rural Eduactional And Development Society) Bangalore, Fr. Jeeson N, Regional coordinator for DB Tech, Bangalore, Mr. Vincent Fernandes, State Project co-ordinator for DB Tech, Mr. Anwer, Mr. Patrick Fernandes, State Project coordinator (NSQF) for Automobile, and 46 Automobile trainers recruited by Don Bosco Tech.
The function began with a prayer song by the students of Hospitality Training Centre, BREADS, Bangalore. Fr. Jeeson N., Regional co-ordinator, DB Tech, Bangalore welcomed the dignitaries of the function. The inauguration was done by Mr. Purushotham, the Special Officer appointed by the government of Karnataka for the implementation of the project by lighting the lamp. He gave a captivating inspirational talk to the participants. Rev. Fr. Thomas Anchukandam, Provincial, Bangalore spoke on the interventions of Don Bosco institutions from the time of St. Don Bosco until today in the lives of the young in skilling them and creating employability. He emphasized the fact that Don Bosco Tech is engaged in partnering with various State Governments in imparting skill Training and how it is proudly involved in ‘Nation Building’. Other dignitaries too spoke on the occasion with special focus on DB Tech and its passionate approach towards skill training as an opportunity to reach out to the youngsters to be a beacon of light in their lives.
The NSQF (National Skill Qualification Framework) scheme is a dream project by the Govt. of Karnataka to vocationalise the academic schools by incorporating vocational training together with the academic curriculum. Don Bosco Tech, Bangalore has been chosen to impart training in Automobile in 57 selected Govt. Schools in Karnataka. This is a marvelous opportunity for DB Tech to reach out to thousands of Youth from IXth standard to plus two from rural, semi-urban and urban areas of Karnataka.
