A one-day training programme for the School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC) members of Gulbarga was held at Don Bosco PYaR, Gulbarga on 15 September 2014. The SDMC plays a vital role in creating and maintaining a child friendly environment in every Government School, said Master Philip, Coordinator, CREAM Project, Don Bosco PYaR at the inaugural session.
The training commenced with an interactive session on Child Rights moderated by the CREAM Coordinator Mr. Philip. Then Mr. Basvaraj K V, the Social Activist of Don Bosco PYaR took the first session on “Roles and Responsibilities of SDMC”. The second session was facilitated by Ms. Jyoti SD Counselor Child CHILDLINE, Don Bosco PYaR, Gulbarga on the subject ‘CHILDLINE at the service of children in need of care and protection”. More than 30 SDMC members from various Government Schools from the neighboring villages participated in the programme. Fr. Jaimon, Director, Don Bosco PYaR, Gulbarga, Fr. Prasad, Project Director, Don Bosco PYaR, Gulbarga and project staff members were present for the programme.
