Theeradesa Mahila Society (TMS) along with FCDP, Kollam celebrated International Women’s Day on 7 March 2022. Mrs Prasanna Ernest (Hon. Mayor of Kollam) inaugurated the public meeting held at the Rotary Club Hall, Beach Road, Kollam. Mrs Agnes John (President, TMS) presided over the function while Mrs Sunitha Vimal (ESI & Industrial Tribunal Judge) delivered the keynote address.
The Women’s Day celebrations, based on the theme “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,” was an enjoyable experience for the women. The Honourable Mayor appreciated the efforts and interventions of TMS and FCDP for the upliftment and empowerment of the coastal women. She focussed on the initiative of WE-AUTO supported by BREADS Bangalore, as an illustration of innovative entrepreneurship that ensures both a sustainable future and a source of income for women. During the function, fourteen women WE-AUTO drivers received their driving licenses.
