A three-day training on detergent making, poultry farming, jewellery making, and finance management for Kudumbashree members was organised by WELivE Kannur at Don Bosco Arts and Science College Angadikadavu, Kerala. The objective of the training programme was to develop a conceptual idea of a Self-Help Group and its activities, to strengthen income-generating activities, and to enable women as successful entrepreneurs. 77 SHG members from various panchayats attended the training which was conducted on 19,20 and 21 January 2022.
The workshop facilitators adopted a combination of methods such as small-group discussions and action-planning to allow for a critical interchange of ideas to stimulate learning and to establish an ongoing follow-up plan.
At the end of the training, the participants summarised the knowledge they gained from the entire training in terms of benefits and opportunities and expressed their desire to share the knowledge gained, with other people in their respective communities.
