Child Rights Education and Action Movement (CREAM), BREADS Bangalore’s flagship programme for promoting child rights in 10 districts, has successfully completed the second phase (2016-2020) of its implementation.
On 24 July 2021, during the meeting of the Province Administrators in Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore, Fr Jose Koyickal SDB, Provincial of the Sacred Heart Province, released the CREAM II Programme Report. The Programme Report documents how CREAM II enabled children and adults to understand and respond to issues of child protection and child rights in order to create appropriate mechanisms for child protection in society.
The CREAM II programme also underwent an external assessment based on OECD-DAC criteria by Catalyst Management Services (CMS). Its Evaluation Report which found CREAM to be highly relevant and impactful was released by Fr Dr Xavier Packia SDB, Rector & Correspondent, Don Bosco School, Egmore on the same occasion.
While releasing the reports, the Provincial commended both the CREAM programme that now reaches out to 20 districts in Karnataka, as well as Fr Joy Nedumparambil SDB, Economer, Sacred Heart Province, for being the brain behind creating and implementing the impactful CREAM programme.
Fr Rubin Mathew SDB, Executive Director, BREADS, in summarising the achievements of the CREAM programme, appreciated the contributions of the various Don Bosco institutions to the successful implementation of the CREAM programme.
