As a measure to prevent the community transmission of coronavirus, the Government of Kerala under the stewardship of the District Collector of Kannur took possession of Don Bosco College and the hostel facilities at Angadikadavu for quarantining people travelling to Kerala from Karnataka. Before the arrival of 31 persons, including two women and two infants, the healthcare volunteers sanitised the area. More persons are expected in the coming days as many are on an exodus to Kerala from other parts of India. The college is situated 10 kilometres from Karnataka border.
The college premise is under the watchful eyes of the police and the volunteers. Food and other medical attention is available for the quarantined regularly. The seven Salesians working in the college stay on the same campus but are at a safe distance with adequate precautions.
