The batch 10 Hospitality students of DB BEST Academy, Bangalore organised a food festival on 16 October 2019 to exhibit their culinary skills. Under the mentorship of Mr. Mario- the Hospitality trainer, the zeal and enthusiasm of the trainees were visible from the beginning of planning through each stage of the execution of the programme. The competition was based on the theme- cooking without fire. The trainees doled out delectable delicacies garnished and presented artistically. The programme was inaugurated by Fr. Rubin Mathew, Director- DB BEST Academy, in the presence of the other staff members.
The trainees were divided into 10 groups; of three to four members each. Each group decided on their menu and prepared varieties which included peanut butter and choco cake, varieties of milkshakes, coconut laddu, peanut chat, choco lava cake, fruits salad with yoghurt, pineapple sandwich, lemon ricky mocktail, triple-layer sandwich, veg burger, pani poori and brownie bread with ice cream. The presentation of the food was a visual treat and tempting to the taste buds. The event created a platform for the trainees to explore their interests, innovate, improve their culinary skills, plan and execute a programme systematically as a team.
