Skill development being the national priority of India, the skill training at DB BEST Academy is an integral contribution for increasing efficiency and productivity for the sound economic development of the country. DB BEST Academy provides skill training to the marginalized and vulnerable youth in three domains namely BPO, Retail and Hospitality. On 9 June 2018 the inauguration of Batch 6 and certification of Batch 5 was held at DB BEST Academy. The important guests for the occasion were Fr. Bince, Administrator, Don Bosco Provincial House, Banglore, Fr. Joy, Executive Director, BREADS, Fr. Joby, Assistant Director, BREADS, Mr. Joseph Pradeep, Centre Coordinator, DB BEST and Mr. Roshan, State Coordinator, DB Tech.
The ceremony commenced with a prayer song, leading all to a prayerful ambiance, followed by the welcome speech by Fr. Joby, who addressed the gathering and specially welcomed the new batch. The Inauguration was done by the ceremonious lighting of the lamp by Fr. Bince and the dignitaries present. The gracious occasion was felicitated by Fr. Bince, Fr. Joy, Mr. Joseph and Mr. Roshan. 74 students are enrolled in batch 6 (Hospitality- 37, Retail-21, BPO-16). The three months course equipped the 62 students from batch 5 to meet the rising demand of the emerging economy and 56 students are already placed in different sectors through DB BEST placement services.
The 62 trained youth are the promise of DB BEST academy as India paves its path to be a global economic powerhouse. The vision of the nation to standout as one of the skilled nations in coming years could be achieved by enhancing the labour skills of the potential youth in the country. Youth being the driving force in the economy, batch 5 has trained 25 students in Hospitality, 19 in BPO and 18 in Retail management.
The programme was followed by special cultural events, opening the platform for the students to exhibit their talents, special skills. The students of retail management organized a Retail Fest on the occasion as part of their training. The students were supported and guided by the staff to make the fest a success. The Fest promoted games and fun as part of marketing strategy to sell the products and the whole program was a memorable one for the passing out students and the new batch.
