The Inauguration of the Adult Literacy Program at Kalkunte Village in Chithradurga district
The Adult Literacy Program launched by BREADS through BoscoNet and supported by TCS is implemented in seven districts of Karnataka state. As part of the implementation, the project center at Kalkunte village in Chitradurga district was inaugurated by Fr. Joy Nedumparambil, Executive Director BREADS. The inauguration witnessed the presence of Fr. Sonychen, Director, Chithra Don Bosco, Ms. Anjaly George, ALP Coordinator BREADS, Staff Chithra Don Bosco , ALP facilitators, SDMC representatives, village heads and the beneficiaries from the village. The villagers expressed their extended support towards the new project and the Computer Based Functional Literacy (CBFL) class is expected to reach out to 720 illiterate population in the rural villages of Chitradurga district in a year.
