Don Bosco Center for Social Action, Yadgiri celebrated the world day against child labour on 12th June 2018 in collaboration with the Labour Department and other Government departments at Mini Vidhana Soudha, Yadgiri. Mr. Sadanand, Civil Judge, Yadgir, Mr. Manjunath, District Commissioner, Mr. Prakash, Assistant District Commissioner, Mr. Chandrashekar Alipur, Member, Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR), Mr.Hanumanth, Child Welfare Committee, Mr.Bhimaraya, Bar Council Yadgiri, Mr. Saidappa, Labour department were the chief guests for the meeting and gathering. Fr. George Kollashany, Director, Don Bosco Center for Social Action, along with the teachers and students from Child Rights Clubs sang the song “Ni Bega Baa Ro Shaalege” (you come soon to the school), a song highlighting the value of education. Adding joy to the occasion school bags were distributed to ten school dropout children and they will be readmitted to mainstream education. The speeches, meetings and rallies highlighted the elimination of child labour and raised huge awareness among the public. 150 children from different schools, teachers, and representatives from Government departments were part of the world day against child labour celebrations in Yadgir.
