Workshop on Marketing and Finance Linkages

Don Bosco Hospet organized two days workshop for the members of Self Help Groups on Marketing and Finance Linkages on 24th and 25th of November 2017. 40 women from different SHGs participated in the workshop. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Anath Joshi, Director, Vikasa Seva Samasthe. During the inaugural ceremony Sr. Seema, District Coordinator said that, the training on marketing and administration skills will enable the participants to be effective entrepreneurs.

Mr. Anath Joshi in his sessions spoke about business and marketing of the products. Business is a daily learning experience. The learning from our experiences, daily challenges and updated knowledge about the current market situations will help one to strive in business. While planning for a business one must study the need and necessity of the product and place and the availability of raw materials in the area and the possibility of marketing the finished product. As an initial step a full pledged survey on marketing will help to gather the needed information. The good rapport with the customers and good communication skills and management of money are the other important factors in a successful business.

The second day started with the sessions from Ms. Sunitha Anvekar, imparting the knowledge on Government Schemes and subsidiary loans. The quality of the product and its presentation is an important tool in marketing. The quality of the product cannot be compromised for making more profit. Number of schemes are available to encourage women to start small scale business and technical support is provided for the production and marketing. The Government facilities can be well utilized by the SHGs to establish the business by availing the loans, schemes and subsidies. Activities were conducted during the session to prove and improve the marketing skills of the participants. At the end of the sessions a critical evaluation helped the participants to view their abilities very realistically and prepared a future plan on how to utilize the knowledge and skills.
