Ration kits for patients with leprosy

Don Bosco Hospet in association with BREADS Bangalore distributed 180 ration kits to  patients with leprosy in Hagaribommanahalli and Huvina Hadagali taluks of Vijayanagara district in Karnataka. In Hagaribommanahalli, ration kits were distributed to 55 families affected by leprosy  and in Huvina Hadagali, 125 families benefitted from the distribution. Each kit contained rice, semolina, flattened rice, tea powder, sugar, chilli powder, dal and oil.

In both the places, the distribution was carried out under the aegis of Assisi Clinic. Mr. Someshekar, Executive Officer, Huvina Hadagali taluk, was present during the distribution in the taluk. Mr. Someshekar appreciated DB Hospet for its efforts and its social concern for the poor. He also acknowledged the work of the Child Rights Education and Action Movement (CREAM) programme of BREADS, especially in organising children’s special grama sabhas in the district. Dr. Basavaraj from the Huvina Hadagali taluk government hospital, Fr. Jude Anand SDB, Rector, DB Hospet, Sr. Janet ASMI, Superior, Assisi Convent, and staff members of DB Hospet were also present.
