Don Bosco ITI KGF, supported by Bangalore Rural Educational And Development Society (BREADS) and BOSCONET, successfully concluded the second batch of skill training for tailoring and beautician courses. A special event held on 15 February 2024, at Don Bosco ITI KGF marked the distribution of completion certificates and seed capital to the trainees. The three-month training course, conducted from November 2023 to January 2024, equipped 40 trainees in tailoring and 18 trainees in beautician skills, fostering economic self-reliance through self-employment opportunities.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Fr. Jitto Joy, Assistant Director, BREADS. Fr. Dominic Savio, Principal of DB ITI KGF and Fr. Pravinth, Director of Don Bosco ITI KGF were present at the event.
As part of the initiative, 40 beneficiaries from the tailoring course received sewing machines, while 18 beneficiaries from the beautician course were provided with vanity kits containing makeup and grooming items. This seed capital distribution aims to empower women, facilitating the commencement of their self-employment ventures. It plays a pivotal role in encouraging self-sufficiency, utilising opportunities that are both accessible and affordable within the local context.
