It was a special day for the students, parents, teachers and Salesians of Don Bosco ICSE School, Bidar! On 10 January 2024, they celebrated their School Annual Day, and more significantly, they celebrated a dream being realised in the inauguration of their new school building.
The modern new school building that now houses around 350 students, is the result of dedicated efforts on the part of Bangalore Rural Educational and Development Society (BREADS) in partnership with Don Bosco Mondo, BILD hilft e.V., Klaus und Gertrud Conrad-Stiftung of Germany, and Don Bosco Bidar. Heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to our funding partners, for enabling the access to high-quality English-medium education, which would have otherwise remained a distant dream for the rural children of Bidar.
Rt. Rev. Robert Miranda D.D., Bishop of Gulbarga, and Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Bangalore, blessed the building in the presence of other Salesians and the school community. The Principal of Don Bosco ICSE School, Bidar, Fr Praveen KJ welcomed the guests and presented the school Annual Report. After the inaugural function, there were cultural performances by the tiny tots, who stole the show and everyone’s hearts with their beautiful dances and mimes. The children and the local community can now look forward to further holistic development in a well-equipped Don Bosco educational institution.
