Don Bosco PYaR Gulbarga Celebrated Children’s Day

Children’s day was celebrated on 14 November 2014 at Don Bosco PYaR, Gulbarga. Dr. Suresh Kunhi Mohammed IPS, IGP, North-eastern Range, Gulbarga. Fr. Jaimon, Director, Don Bosco PYaR, Gulbarga, Anandraj, Director, Margadarshi Society, Gulbarga, Dr. Lingaraj Konin, Principal, Sri Shankarlal Lahoti Law College, Gulbarga, Sr. Lourd Mary, Member, Juvenile Justice Board, Gulbarga, Gokul, Don Bosco PYaR, Gulbarga, Deepika, Don Bosco, Bablad, Fr. Prasad, Project Director, Don Bosco PYaR, Gulbarga, student volunteers from nearby colleges, staff members and over seventy children from the rehabilitation centers were present for the programme. Dr. Suresh Kunhi Mohammed IPS, IGP, North-eastern Range, Gulbarga led the child rights protection oath taking ceremony. On the occasion of the children’s day, a drawing competition was organized on child rights and prizes were awarded to the winners. ’Suraksha Bandhan’ was also organised as part of the children’s day (tying a suraksha band on the wrist of the members of the allied systems) as a symbolic gesture of creating a protective environment for children and making the society more child-friendly). The programme was inaugurated by Amit Singh IPS, SP, Gulbarga at Police Bhavan, Gulbarga. By inaugurating the programme, he assured protection and safety of children through child friendly policing. Children tied the Suraksha Band on police personnel and distributed sweets to them. The team included Rizwan, Sohail, Geeth, Bhagyashree, inmates, Don Bosco Rehabilitation Centre, Gulbarga, CHILDLINE team members Jyoti, Yallubai, Shobhadevi, Sundar and Kumar. The team visited various Police Stations in Gulbarga and the Juvenile Justice Board Members.
