Children’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 13 November 2025, at Don Bosco College, Bengaluru, and Don Bosco Social Action Crèche, Lingarajapuram, with the support of BREADS. The joyful celebrations put together by various Don Bosco institutions offered over 200 children from low-income communities, a wonderful opportunity to enjoy, freely express their talents and personalities, and celebrate their childhood.
At Don Bosco College, the Social Service Guild (SSG) welcomed children from their nearby supplementary education centres. Don Bosco Mithra School and Shishu Mandir supported the event by providing safe transport for the children. The auditorium was filled with excitement as children arrived early in the morning, eager for a day of celebration. The lineup of events featured a colourful cultural show, with children presenting dances, songs, mimes and creative dress-up items that reflected their confidence and growing talents. Several children also received prizes for competitions conducted in the weeks leading to the celebration.
At the Don Bosco Social Action Crèche in Lingarajapuram, the staff organised a simple but meaningful programme for the little ones. The children enjoyed performing poems, songs and dances in Kannada and English, proudly showcasing all their learning throughout the year. Their cultural performances were followed by a small prize distribution for competitions held during the year. Their joy and innocence added a special warmth to the celebration. The Salesian Fathers shared short messages encouraging the children and appreciating the staff for the care provided at the crèche.
At both venues, the children were provided with nutritious snacks and tasty lunches to keep them energised throughout the day. Simple games and group activities helped them interact freely and build friendships.
These celebrations supported by BREADS reaffirm the collective Don Bosco commitment to nurture children from marginalised communities through education, care, and opportunities for growth. Days like these, strengthen their confidence and remind them that their dreams and talents matter.
