Don Bosco Sports Hubs in Kerala, organised a friendly football match on 30 September 2025 at the Primary Sports Hub ground, Mannuthy, Thrissur, to promote youth participation in sports while fostering values of teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship. Under the aegis of the BREADS’ Sports for Change initiative, the event was hosted by the DB Mannuthy hub, who played against Madakkathara sports hub. The two hubs competed in two categories: Under-12 and Under-15. In an exciting display of talent and energy, the Community Sports Hub, Madakkathara, clinched victory in the Under-12 category, while the Primary Sports Hub, Mannuthy, secured a win in the Under-15 category.
Fr. Jitto, Director of the Sports for Change initiative, encouraged the young players to also view sports as a platform to build confidence, character and positive habits that shape their future. The Sports for Change initiative reaffirmed its commitment to empowering children and youth by creating opportunities for physical fitness, teamwork and personal growth. Events like this friendly match strengthen community bonds while nurturing the holistic development of young people in Kerala.
