The Training of Trainers of the newly recruited Trainers for the implementation of the Kudumbasree-DDU- GKY Project in Kerala was held in Don Bosco Skill Mission (DBSM), Bangalore from 23 June to 27 June 2015. A total of forty Trainers participated in the training. The training was imparted by the Learning and Development department of Don Bosco Tech. Fr. Arul Maran (Director, DBSM), Fr. Ramesh Cherian (Asst. Director, DBSM), Fr. Jeeson Nelluvelil ( Province Co-ordinator, DB Tech Operations) also animated the sessions. The training concluded with a function in which the participants were awarded the certificate of participation.
Kudumbasree-DDU- GKY Project is a project rolled out by the Govt. of Kerala together with the Central Govt. aiming to skill rural youth who are poor and provide them with jobs having regular monthly wages at or above the minimum wages. Don Bosco Tech, by being a PIA (project Implementing Agency) is participating in Government’s ambitious target of providing skill training to 500 million of its youth by 2022. DB Tech Kerala has shortlisted 14 centres to implement this program in 10 districts to meet a target of 2200 trainees being trained and 75% placed successfully.
