Workshop on UN’s future Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for 2015- 2030

On 19th September 2015 Don Bosco Child Labour Mission, Davangere in partnership with BREADS Bangalore and St.Paul’s Convent Higher Primary School Organized  a two and half an hour workshop to give a start to UN’s (United Nations) future Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for 2015- 2030 in St.Paul’s convent School Auditorium in Davangere.

This Programme was graced by 600 school children from Don Bosco Child Labour Mission, CRC (Child Rights Clubs) of Don Bosco Cream and Childline Project, St. Paul’s Convent Higher Primary School and nearly 100 staff members from Don Bosco and St. Paul’s convent school.

This workshop was inaugurated by Sri.H.B.Gonneppa, Mayor City Municipal Corporation, Davangere. The key note address was given by Rev. Fr. Stany D’souza Vicar Forene and Parish priest of Harihar Arogya Mathe Church, Harihara.  Rev. Fr. Stephen D’sa Parish Priest of St.Thomas Church, Davangere presided over the inaugural function.

The Other Chief Guests were Sri.L.H.Arun Kumar (Advocate and Secretary, District Human Rights Forum, Davangere) , Sri. G. Boro (Inspector, Railway Protection Force, Davangere), Rev. Fr. Kuriakose SDB (Director Don Bosco Child Labour Mission, Davangere) and Rev. Sr. Cristal (Head Mistress, St. Paul’s Higher Primary School, Davangere).

Rev. Fr. Stany D’souza who gave the key note address quoted Pope Francis latest Encyclical Letter  Laudato Si’ meaning Praise be to you and insisted that we should respect and take care of the Entire Environment realizing that our mother earth is our common home. He gave St. Francis Assisi as a model and patron saint to love the mother earth.

The highlight of this programme was the Oath taking ceremony by the entire participants promising that they will safeguard the Nature, respect human dignity, treat everyone equal and will fight against poverty, hunger and environmental degradation.
