On August 2, 2024, the Don Bosco Child Labour Mission, Davangere, successfully conducted a mobile clinic program at Medikerenahalli. This initiative aimed to not only provide essential health care but also to enhance community awareness about health practices.
Our mobile clinic provided critical medical services to a region lacking nearby public health centres (PHCs) or any public transportation. We emphasised the importance of maintaining good health and hygiene by guiding balanced diets, regular exercise, and the importance of regular health check-ups. Additionally, we emphasised the significant role of mothers in educating their children about personal hygiene and creating a clean environment to prevent illnesses.
The community’s response was overwhelmingly positive. Participants gained valuable insights into improving their health and well-being, and many expressed eagerness to adopt healthier practices in their daily routines. The discussions on balanced diets and meal preparation were especially well-received by the women in the community.
