Don Bosco Social Service (DBSS), Deogurga, under the CREAM project joined hands with the taluk level Government officials to form the child protection committee at the taluk level to protect the rights of children and to be vigilant against the violation of rights. The child protection committee will be responsible for advocacy actions, trainings, safeguarding the rights of children, identifying the school dropouts, to ensure the re-enrollment process, ensuring the free and compulsory education, protect and save the children from the clutches of child marriage, child labour, abuses, and child begging. The committee will maintain a close watch on the vehicles carrying children for work. The meeting was headed by Mr. Shivasharanappa Kattolli, Tahsildar and officials from police department, education department, health and family welfare, child welfare committee, department of women and child development, NGOs, Fr. Kuriakose, Director, Don Bosco Social service and CREAM staff were part of the meeting.
