The Don Bosco Team Covid initiated the “Blood for Life” campaign, foreseeing the shortage that blood banks were likely to face following the covid vaccination. The Team Covid under the banner of FCDP (Fishermen Community Development Programme) Kollam was awarded for this meritorious service of blood donation during the crucial time of the pandemic by the Kollam District Hospital.
The award was handed over on 14th June 2021, i.e. World Blood Donor Day to Fr Joby Sebastian (Director, FCDP & TMS) by Dr Vasantha Das (Superintendent, Kollam District Hospital) in the presence of Deputy Superintendent Dr Ajitha, Dr Aniroop (RMO), and Dr Mary Sanshya (Bloodbank Medical Officer). The award is a token of appreciation for the 25-member team of volunteers who have been working tirelessly to mitigate the suffering brought about by the Covid pandemic through various relief measures and activities! FCDP plans to continue this campaign and make a team for the same.
