The project was started in October 2014 by Social Service Guild, the official development organization of Kristu Jyothi College, Bangalore.
Six crèches cum preschools were started for the poor children from 6 localities of the slum of Bangalore city under the project. SSG has already built community halls for community empowerment programmes in all these localities and the preschools were started in these community halls.
In each centre 20 to 25 children are undergoing preschool education. Two teachers look after the children and conduct the preschool education. The crèche is open from 8am to 4pm. All the children are provided with nutrient food like milk, egg, and cereals on a daily basis. One cup of milk, an egg and cereals will be served to the children every day.
