“YOUTH LIGHT THE WAY” CAMPAIGN- DON BOSCO PYaR at Gulbarga

Don Bosco PYaR, in collaboration with Sonn Gram Panchayat and CHILDLINE 1098 organized a youth gathering and ‘Light the Way’ Campaign as part of Action 2015, at Sonn, Jewargi, Gulbarga, on September 16, 2015. “The political and religious leaders have crucial roles to play in bringing about transformation in the society and in the country at large”, said Shivanand Swamiji, Viraktha Matt, Sonn, Jewargi, Gulbarga. Ramachandra Dhare, President, SDMC, Govt. High School, Sonn, Jewargi, addressing the gathering said that the youngsters have a great role in eliminating and fighting against corruption in the society. “We pledge our wholehearted cooperation in making our panchayat more child-friendly”, said Keshav Nath, Jai Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Sonn, Jewargi, Gulbarga. Fr. Prasad SDB, Project Director, Don Bosco PYaR, Kalaburagi and Basavaraj Jawali, Social Activist, CREAM, Don Bosco PYaR, Kalaburagi spoke on the occasion.

Shivanand Swamiji, Viraktha Matt, Sonn, lit the candle and the participants pledged to eliminate the problems in the village amid the chanting of the ‘Shanti Mantra, Asathoma Satgamaya’.  The leaders present at the venue paid heed to the children and youth who presented the various issues and assured to take appropriate steps with immediate effect.

Bharati Talawar, President,  Sonn Gram Panchayat, Mallamma Hosamani, Vice President, Sonn Gram Panchayat, Rajshekhar, PDO, Sonn Gram Panchayat, Vijayakumar Biradar, Village leader, Basavaraj Tengli, District Coordinator, CHILDLINE 1098, project staff, over two hundred youth and children participated in the programme. Jyoti Gaikwad compered, Mallappa Rajoor welcomed and Santhosh Tandoor proposed the vote of thanks.
