Yamaha partners with Don Bosco ITI, Bhadravati for skills training and placement of underprivileged youth

Bhadravati, 28th May 2015: India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd, today, signed a MoU with Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute, one of the prestigious institutes in Bhadravati, to open Yamaha Training School (YTS) in Karnataka. This initiative is to promote and encourage economically weaker youth (male and female) to acquire technical knowledge and expertise, thereby supporting them to secure employment at Yamaha dealerships.

Addressing the gathering Fr. Francis, Director Don Bosco Institute, Bhadravathi, welcomed the audience and appreciated the effort of Yamaha in starting a partnership with Don Bosco. He highlighted the role of industry and NGO’s in making India into a skilled nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravinder Singh, Vice President, Strategy and Planning, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd said: “At present, there is a huge skills gap in the industry and a large number of youth are pushed towards unemployment due to lack of technical skills. With the present MoU’s we will develop a synergetic partnership with Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute in Bhadravati, Karnataka thereby helping deserving students find employment in the automobile sector via impartment of technical training and education. Upon successful completion of this YTS course, students will receive a Yamaha Technical Academy certificate and a certificate issued by the Institute that will help them gain suitable employment within the industry.”

The MOU signing ceremony ended with a planting of saplings to mark the beginning of this new venture.
