We are happy to say that Don Bosco Youth Centre, Vaduthala got the opportunity to be a part of the vaccination drive happening all over India, collaborating with the State Government where both Covishield and Covaxin vaccinations are available. The drive started in the first week of May and is continuing. Until now, more than 7000 people have been vaccinated at the Centre, with around 150 people getting vaccinated every day! The Youth Centre Hall is being used to conduct the initiative as it is equipped with an internet connection and all the basic requirements for the vaccination drive.
Considering the difficulty in booking online slots faced by the senior citizens in the area, the Social Service wing at Don Bosco Youth Centre started a Don Bosco Vaccination Help Desk. This also started in May, in collaboration with Don Bosco Senior Secondary School. The Youth Centre members and school students are assisting people with vaccination slot bookings, registration on the Co-WIN App, and informing them about the availability of slots.
