As part of the BREADS’ Sports for Change programme, an Under-12 football tournament was organised on 13 December 2025 at Don Bosco Chullikkara Sports Hub. Children from the Community Sports hubs at Malakkallu, Kodoth, Poodamkallu, Kanjiradukkam, and Odayanchal actively participated in the matches. The event brought together young players from different communities, providing them with an opportunity to interact, learn, and grow through structured sports activities.
The final match was keenly contested and reflected the enthusiasm and skills developed through regular training under the Sports for Change programme in the various hubs. Poodamkallu Centre emerged as the winner of the Under-12 category, while Kodoth Centre secured the runner-up position. The matches were marked by teamwork, fair play, and strong encouragement among the players.
Special awards were presented to encourage and appreciate individual talent and effort: Uday P was recognised as Top Scorer, Sayanth received the Best Goalkeeper award, Mrithul K was named Best Player, and Amarjith was awarded Best Defender. These recognitions motivated the children and boosted their confidence in pursuing sports with commitment.
The football tournament served as a meaningful learning experience for the children, reinforcing the importance of regular sports practice and positive peer engagement. It highlighted the objectives of the Sports for Change initiative, demonstrating how sports can play a vital role in the holistic development of children by building discipline, self-confidence, and healthy habits, guiding them away from negative influences and towards constructive life choices.
