Training on Project Cycle Management

BREADS organized three days training on Project Cycle Management for 35 participants including Directors and staff from different Don Bosco centers in Kerala and Karnataka. The training programme started with an inaugural function on 3rd September 2016 at Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore. Fr. Ittira Mondoth, Rector – Provincial House Bangalore, welcomed the gathering with a meaningful message. Fr. Joyce Thonikuzhiyil, the Provincial of Don Bosco Bangalore inaugurated the progarmme and gave an inaugural address. Fr. P.S. George, Economer of the Don Bosco Bangalore Province felicitated the group and spoke on the importance of project cycle management in the present scenario. Fr. Joy Nedumparambil, Executive Director – BREADS Bangalore introduced the resource person Mr. Tom Jose to group. Mr. Tom Jose with an experience of 25 years in training and expertise in project cycle management has made him the pertinent person to train the participants on the topic.

Project management concept was put across to the group in a very simple and comprehensible mode. The training on 3, 4 & 5 September included topics, quality projects, steps involved in planning, logical framework approach, time & budgeting, monitoring & evaluation and content of a proposal. The group exercises on logical framework approach helped the participants to understand different aspects clearly and made the sessions interesting.  The participants shared their experience about the training and how it would personally help them in their work zone. The participants were very pleased with the programme and requested to organize a follow up training on advanced level of project cycle management. The training came to an end with the distribution of participation certificate to every participant during the valedictory programme.
