Training of Automobile Trainer for NSQF (Govt. of Karnataka) – DB Tech Project.

Don Bosco Tech, Bangalore organized two days training for all the automobile trainers of NSQF project at Don Bosco Provincial House at Bangalore. There were 46 participants from different parts of Karnataka. The training began on 21st Oct 2014, at 9am. Mr. Anwer, the Training Manager from L&D Department of  DB Tech, Delhi was the resource person for the first day. The sessions included Don Bosco Tech, its vision, mission and process especially in respect to vocational and skill training all over India. He also motivated the trainers to take up this job as an opportunity to bring up those who need it the most. There were life skills sessions which added boost to the regular curriculum of training.

Sessions on 22nd Oct began at 9am. Rev. Fr. Mathew Thomas, the Former Secretary, Don Bosco South Asian Forum for YAR (Youth At Risk), Delhi was the resource person. He dealt with Education System of Don Bosco. Being a qualified councilor, he guided the trainers to how to deal with students who are at different social situations and economic background.

Second half of the day was devoted for automobile curriculum and NSQF Roles & Responsibility of Trainers. Sessions were handled by Rev. Fr. Jeeson N., Regional Co-ordinator for DB Tech. He presented different methods in which a student can get the most of the knowledge in his capacity. He also gave the trainers various hints on how to get every student to like the subject. Neatly prepared power point presentation also included various methods of evaluations and innovative ways to motivate young students. Focus was given to preparing the students for practical approach towards learning this skill. Fr. Jeeson advised the trainers to take the student to various workshops, garages and give them exposure of industries with due permission of concerned authority and regular procedures of NSQF itself. Towards the end of the day Mr. Vincent Fernandes, State Co-ordinator, DB Tech, explained the roles and responsibilities of NSQF trainers. He presented the guidelines so as to be effective trainers in their respective schools .

All the participants took part actively and with greater zeal. The NSQF (National Skill Qualification Framework) scheme is a dream project by the Govt. of Karnataka to vocationalise the academic schools by incorporating vocational training together with the academic curriculum.  Don Bosco Tech, Bangalore has been chosen to impart training in Automobile in 57 selected Govt. Schools in Karnataka. This is a marvelous opportunity for DB Tech to reach out to thousands of Youth from IXth standard to plus two from rural, semi-urban and urban areas of Karnataka.
