Sowing the Seeds of Sustainability – A Green Revolution in the Classroom

BREADS initiative—Educate to Cultivate Organically (ECO)—was inaugurated in November and December 2024 across various government schools by its local Don Bosco partners in Chitradurga, Davanagere, and Hosapete. The ECO programme aims to promote organic farming and sustainability by integrating organic farming principles into school curricula. Students are encouraged to engage in eco-friendly agricultural practices through hands-on activities. The inauguration featured interactive sessions where students actively participated in planting and learning about sustainable farming techniques. The initiative strives to raise environmental awareness in sixty government schools, empowering over 1800 students to make informed food choices, and highlighting organic farming as a viable and sustainable solution.
