On 18 July 2025, BREADS Bangalore welcomed Mr. A.D. Prasad Rao, the representative of Aumund Foundation, for his first official visit to review the community development projects supported by the foundation. Aumund Foundation is one of the valued partners supporting BREADS in empowering vulnerable children, youth and women across Karnataka and Kerala.
The visit began with a warm reception at BREADS, where Mr. Rao was introduced to the team and given an overview of the organisation’s vision and ongoing interventions. This was followed by a field visit to the various Don Bosco institutions and programmes in Bangalore.
At the Don Bosco Crèche Centre, Mr. Rao observed the early childhood care and development initiatives that provide a safe and nurturing space for children from marginalised communities. He interacted with the children and staff, appreciating the care and educational support provided in a cheerful and secure environment.
The visit continued to DB BEST Academy, where Mr. Rao explored the short-term skill training programmes offered to underprivileged youth in Hospitality, Retail and BPO sectors. He was briefed on the training process, placement support and the efforts made to ensure holistic development through life skills and personality development sessions.
In addition, Mr. Rao visited the evening tuition centres, which serve as crucial support systems for children from low income families. These centres focus on preventing school dropouts, improving academic performance and fostering self-confidence among children.
Throughout the visit, Mr. Rao reviewed the facilities, engaged in dialogue with programme coordinators and offered valuable feedback to enhance the effectiveness of interventions. His observations and encouragement were greatly appreciated by the BREADS team and the implementing staff at the centres.
The visit was a significant step in reinforcing the collaborative relationship between BREADS and Aumund Foundation. We are grateful for their support and trust and we look forward to strengthening our partnership to continue transforming lives across communities.
