After the Covid 19 restrictions and struggles, our 15th Skill Training batch at DB BEST Academy (Skill training centre of BREADS Bangalore) was officially inaugurated on 28th August 2021! The program started off with an inaugural prayer song by students, the lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome address by Mr Kennady, Centre Coordinator, DB BEST Academy, who welcomed the dignitaries, students and parents.
The Chief guests of the day were Ms Margaret Veronica, HR Manager, Infosys; Mr Sathish Kumar, Director of HR, CONRAD Hilton, Bangalore; and Ms Asmita Phani, Director, Deutsche Bank, Bangalore (who joined us virtually). Fr Sebastian, Rector, DBPH, Bangalore; Fr Rubin Mathew, Executive Director, BREADS Bangalore; and Fr Deepu Mathew, Director, DB BEST Academy, also graced the occasion with their presence.
In their respective addresses, the guests lauded the efforts of DB BEST Academy in playing a vital role in supporting, uplifting and empowering the underprivileged youth through the 3 months courses and placement opportunities. They emphasised the significance of the short-term courses, which provide relevant skills, shape their personalities and boost their confidence! Additionally, they also assured students of assistance with skill enhancement, employment opportunities and knowledge sharing sessions.
The Parents meet after the inauguration program was a Q&A session, where parents could clarify doubts, ask questions and speak personally with the BPO, Retail management and Hospitality domain trainers to better understand what their children were involved in. The DB BEST management team took this opportunity to explain the roles and responsibilities of students in the centre.
Different cultural performances from the students added to the pleasantness of the event!
