HR Summit at DB BEST Academy

BREADS – Career Guidance and Job Placement Services, Bangalore, in collaboration with Equitas Foundation, organised an HR Summit on 18 December 2024, at DB BREADS Employment and Skill Training Academy (DB BEST), Bangalore. Fr. Jitto Joy, Assistant Director of BREADS, welcomed the attendees and provided insights into BREADS’ mission and initiatives.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Gunashekaran, Placement Manager at Equitas Foundation, shared the foundation’s contributions and emphasised the need for collaborative solutions for talent acquisition and skill development. Ms. Cheryl Bartholomeusz, Manager for Research and Development at BREADS, shared the extent and impact of BREADS’ formal and non-formal skilling programmes across Kerala and Karnataka, which strongly focus on employability and placement of the trainees. She stressed the important role that Human Resource personnel played in these initiatives and urged them to view their collaborations with BREADS and DB BEST not as targets but as an important service in creating employment and life opportunities for youth, also contributing to nation building. Mr. John Martin, Programme Manager of the national Don Bosco Job Placement Network, introduced the JPN website and app, explaining their features and benefits to the recruiters. Mr. Harish, Programme Coordinator, led a discussion on strategies for enhancing collaboration in future placement programmes, emphasising the importance of building strong ties with industry partners to improve outcomes both regionally and nationwide.

 The summit provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas, align efforts, and ensure impactful placement services. A total of 32 recruiters from 24 companies actively participated, sharing their commitment to collaborating in skill training and placement initiatives. As a token of appreciation, all the recruiters were presented with diaries. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Ambrose Roy, Bangalore Placement Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to all participants for their active involvement and support.
