The Don Bosco Bidar social work team, with the support of BREADS Bangalore, organised a Children’s Day celebration on 14 November 2025 in Kamalpur village, bringing together children from the local school, their parents, and community representatives. The Don Bosco team presented an impactful mime on the theme “Say Yes to Life and No to Drugs”, which drew attention to the importance of substance-abuse prevention among young people. The children further enriched the event with dances, poems, songs and short cultural performances, reflecting their creativity and confidence.
To reinforce the theme of child rights, the team facilitated simple art activities such as handprint and finger painting, allowing children to express their individuality through colour and design. Parents also took part in the activities and engaged in a brief meeting that focused on their role in nurturing, guiding, and protecting their children. Lunch was served to all the children, creating a warm space for community bonding. The Don Bosco team conducted various competitions for the children and prizes were distributed to the winners, adding joy and encouragement. Many parents shared their appreciation for the opportunity to celebrate their children’s talents and learn more about child protection.
The Children’s Day celebration at Kamalpur village helped reinforce the collective responsibility of families and communities to safeguard their children. With the continued support of BREADS, Don Bosco Bidar remains committed to promoting child rights, preventing substance abuse, and strengthening community awareness for the well-being of every child.
