On 24 August 2024, the mobile clinic team from the Don Bosco Centre for Social Action and Movement in Bidar had an impactful encounter at a time of emergency.
On the way to Jambagi village in Bidar taluk for their field visit, the team chanced upon an accident in Kandgoal involving three individuals from Soraly village, who were waiting for an ambulance to arrive. The victims had been informed that the ambulance would take an hour to reach them. Understanding the urgency, our trained medical team quickly provided first aid to the injured and then transported them to the Brims Hospital in Bidar for additional treatment.
Thanks to the team’s quick and professional response, the injured could access the medical treatment they required at the earliest. As they left the hospital, the accident victims expressed their heartfelt gratitude to our Mobile Clinic team, praising our efforts and commitment to serving the community.
As the incident proves, health services are very hard to access in certain parts of rural Karnataka. To address this issue, BREADS-supported mobile clinics provide primary community health services to the remote underserved villages and thandas of Bidar, Kalaburagi, Davanagere and Raichur districts.
