Entrepreneurship Training for Women from SHG

Chithra Don Bosco, Chitradurga is continuting its effort to empower women to be entrepreneurs. A group of 50 women were brought together from different villages of Chitradurga for three days at Chithra Don Bosco, the social service center for training on entrepreneurship. Eminent resources person with lots of  experience in the field of women entrepreneurship was brought in for the training. Mr. Manohar, coordinator for Women SHGs and financial help at Sangamithra and FAMCO, Pondicherry, dealt the first session with leadership management, achievement plan and choosing leaders. Following days Mr. Prakash from CMRC, Myrada conducted individual and group activities to elicit the participants’ ideas for entrepreneurship and listed possible income generation plans. He also made the training opulent with demonstration of preparation of few products which was easy and useful in daily life and small scale businness.

The training stressed on agricultural entrepreneurship by including the session of Mr. Devaraj, Assi. Deputy Director, Horticulture Department, on agricultural and flora based small scale initiatives. He spoke about the different possibilities in the agricultural sector especially for women entrepreneurship. He also extended his help by offering to give training and assistance for the same if anybody comes forward with a small scale initiate in this sector.

The training came to an end on 15 Feb 2016, with one day exposure visit to women owned entrepreneurship at Belthangady, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. They visited a total of 9 places including different production units and organisations, run by women. This encouraged the women to keep going and start a new endeavour of their own.
